This site is run by Kevin Walsh, a sole proprietor based in Canada, trading as Kevin Walsh Video. This policy explains what information is collected, why, and what happens to it.
There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, and no forms on this site. Nothing is stored in your browser and no profile of you is built. You can read every page here without giving anything up.
The site is served by a hosting provider that, like all web hosts, keeps standard server logs. Those logs can include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. They are generated by the host for security and reliability, are not used to identify you, and are not combined with anything else.
If you email, the message and your email address are held in an email account so the conversation can continue. Nothing more is collected, and you are not added to a mailing list.
All of it is used for one purpose: delivering the work you have asked for, invoicing it, and keeping the records a business is required to keep.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own systems and are never seen or stored here. What comes back is the fact of payment, the amount, and the name on the invoice. Stripe handles that data under its own privacy policy, at stripe.com/privacy.
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing. It is shared only with the service providers needed to do the work and get paid: the payment processor, the email provider, the file storage used to exchange large video files, and the hosting provider for this site. Each handles it under its own terms and only for that purpose.
It would also be disclosed if the law required it.
The providers above operate internationally, so information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, it is subject to the laws of the country it is in.
Enquiries that do not become work are kept only as long as the conversation is useful. Client records, invoices and the material behind delivered work are kept while we are working together and afterwards for as long as tax and business records must be retained. Production files are kept for a reasonable period after delivery so a finished piece can be re-supplied, and are removed on request.
You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and you can withdraw permission to publish on your behalf at any time. Some records have to be kept regardless, such as invoices needed for tax purposes.
Ask by email and you will get an answer. In Canada, if you are not satisfied with how a privacy question was handled, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
This is a business-to-business service. It is not directed at children and information about children is not knowingly collected.
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
